I let out an audible moan when seeing these. I'm still a hopeless FFVII fan, give me all the spinoffs you got! My first ever RPG holds a happy fuzzy place in my heart. The prequel setting will be very interesting indeed.
I'm glad I can look forward to all the nice looking PSP games now. Disgaea Portable, Castlevania: Dracula X Chronicles, Jeanne D'Arc, Monster Hunter Freedom 2, Final Fantasy Crisis Core and of course FINAL FANTASY TACTICS LION'S WAR (!!!!!!). This one is the killer. Can. Not. Wait. Here is hoping they fix the translation.
The game can be HARD, but it is good and somehow crazy addictive. It is in essence a Bejeweled clone, which could explain its addictive tendencies, but it is different in its competitive play aspects, where you take turns swapping pieces to gain mana, exp, money or do damage to your enemy. You really have to be ware of setting up beneficial moves for your opponent, and at times actively try to lock them out of the mana (colored gems) they need to cast spells on you. It's a very tactical game. The computer kind of cheats, but that's okay. There isn't any penalty for losing a battle, you get experience and money all the same and are able to go at it again (maybe with a bit more luck and better equipment/spells).
Nothing super special has happened yet. Monday I goofed off too long on the computer, surfing forums and doing Heroics in WoW till the early AM. Then Tuesday I woke up late with a killer headache which persisted and was quite debilitating so I had to call out the shift I picked up (which makes me feel bad but there wasn't much I could do, I would have been a ball of agony at work all night). I then proceeded to take a decent nap, woke up and felt a bit better.
I then ventured to play a little more WoW and did some 2v2 Arenas with a Frost Mage friend of mine. Our team name is CHARMANDAS since both our names are Amanda, and our icon is a Panda.... isn't that adorable of us? We came to the realization that we suck at 2v2, but after dragging our default 1500 rating down to 1300 (you lose/win about 14-18 points a game depending on the opposing team's ranking) we finally got some synergy going (or some really crappy adversaries) and clawed our way back up to 1500. Hurray for CHARMANDAS! I got to bed that night surprisingly easy and woke up very late, with a bit of residual head-achy-ness. Advil and food helped with that. I then decided to go down to Harvard and get some nice dinner for myself at Rendang's and get some studying done. I didn't get as much done as I would like but the atmosphere and a little help from the beats of Armin Van Buuren allowed me to concentrate. I got some article reading done for my paper on Plato's Meno done and a bit more of a idea of what I am going to write about.
The Descartes paper I am still scared to write. Stupid Dualists.
Then I went to the COOP and got a neat useful little SparkNotes card on Latin Grammer (beats flipping through my book constantly) and a copy of Xenophon's Anabasis which I have been meaning to read forever. Eventually it will get read, like all my other books. Maybe once these damn papers are done and I've caught up with all my Locke and readings for Women in Rome. MAYBE!
Megan found Rocket Slime in her couch, thankfully lacking in kitty bite marks. All is well.
And now I have seem to misplaced Yggdra Union. I really need to get a proper case for these damn carts.
My copy of the game has gone missing. I know it was in my little game bag when I was at Kristin's place the other day, because I mentioned it. I don't know if I had it at Megan's party yesterday though. Either it's at Megan's house, at Kristin's, on the T somewhere, in Kristin's car or in Megan's car.
This is the first time I've lost a game! It sucks!
I also set my Vox to crosspost on my LJ but it doesn't seem to want to do it.
Looking at the Phoenix before my shift tonight it came to my attention that Dragonforce is going to be performing in Worcester on September 28th.
I desire to go. Very much.
p.s. I ♥ Disgaea 2.
I am alive and back in Boston. What few pictures I have will be forthcoming.
